Job Description: Administrative Officer - Municipal Fleet Services

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 certificate with a Computer Literacy Certificate. A valid Driver's License is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in computer literacy, specifically Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Secretarial and administrative skills.
  • Strong work ethic, adaptability, communication, assertiveness/leadership, conflict and stress management, negotiation skills, problem-solving skills, office and diary management skills, and strong administrative skills.
  • Attention to detail and an understanding of workshop functions.
  • 2 to 3 years of relevant administrative experience within a Local Government Authority.

Duties:

  • Perform general administrative tasks, including managing day-to-day office operations, handling both incoming and outgoing mail (electronic and manual), maintaining office equipment, and coordinating calendars and meeting schedules.
  • Act as the main point of contact for internal and external queries.
  • Draft documents and reports, and maintain an organized filing system.
  • Minimize complaints and improve service delivery to essential services departments within the municipal fleet services.
  • Ensure all delegated instructions and tasks are executed effectively, efficiently, and promptly as instructed.
  • Perform any other related ad hoc tasks and duties as requested by management or the supervisor from time to time.
