Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated CSSD Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, disinfection, and sterilization within our Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD) and Theatre, directly contributing to patient safety and health outcomes.

Main Focus Areas

• Promotes and restores patients' health by practicing correct cleaning procedures, correct waste management, disinfecting and sterilization of equipment, correct use of chemicals and laundry procedures.

Key Performance Areas

• Practice correct hand washing techniques/procedures.
• Segregate waste according to policy.
• Use correct colour coded mops as per IFC policy - wash, dry and lock away after use.
• Maintain interior cleanliness of CSSD and Theatre.
• Complete hygiene checklists accurately.
• Prevent cross-infection by using Biocide effectively.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with all procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Test and document results of autoclave sterilization processes.

Post Requirements

• Grade 12 qualification.
• Hold a CSSD Certificate.
• Possess at least 1 year of experience working in a private hospital setting.
• Demonstrate good communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to assume responsibility and take on a leadership role when required.
• Knowledge of different surgical instruments, instrument sets, and equipment.
• Knowledge of packing and sterilization procedures for instruments.
• Knowledge of testing and operating autoclaves and other relevant household equipment.
• Computer literacy is not mandatory.
