GeneralManager - Opencast Mine Position in Rustenburg, NW

Bilnor Staffing Solutions' client in the Mining sector is seeking a General Manager for an Opencast mine operation near Rustenburg, North West. South African citizens and local residents are preferred. A growing opencast mining operation is seeking an experienced and competent General Manager 4-in-1 to take overall responsibility for the safe and efficient operation of the mine.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and management of the mining operation.
• Act as the 2.6.1 Appointee in terms of the Mine Health and Safety Act.
• Ensure compliance with MHSA, Minerals Act, and other relevant legislation.
• Oversee mine production, safety, engineering, and operational performance.
• Manage budgets, production targets, and cost controls.
• Lead and develop operational and technical teams.
• Ensure proper implementation of mine planning and production schedules.
• Maintain strong relationships with regulators, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Promote and enforce a strong safety culture.

Statutory Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be required to hold the following appointments:

• 2.6.1 - General Manager
• 3.1 - Mine Manager
• 2.13.1 - Responsible person for Mechanical Equipment
• 2.13.3 - Responsible person for Electrical Equipment

Minimum Requirements

• Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency Metalliferous Mines.
• Minimum 10 years mining experience.
• At least 5 years in senior management within opencast mining.
• Strong knowledge of MHSA and statutory requirements.
