Assistant Director: Internal Communications

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree, Higher National Certificate or National Certificate in a relevant discipline

Key requirements: A three‑year tertiary qualification in communications (minimum 360 credits, NQF level 6) and 3‑5 years of experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or junior management role.

Key performance areas

  • Develop and implement internal communication strategies and frameworks.
  • Assess communication tools and technologies for effectiveness.
  • Create tactical plans that align with business needs.
  • Edit and translate external correspondence, press releases, statements and other publications.
  • Ensure consistent brand image across all GPAA and GEPF publications.
  • Source information, write articles and develop story plans for internal publications.
  • Provide strategic publications, content guidance and editorial support.
  • Implement branding, publication and content plans and report on results.
  • Develop and enforce publication and content guidelines for GPAA, GEPF and National Treasury.
