Assistant Director – MIA

Qualification requirements
Applicants must hold a relevant Bachelor’s degree or National Diploma in one of the listed disciplines and have at least five years of statistical experience within an MIA environment, including two years in a supervisory or junior management capacity. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related software is required.
Key performance areas
Business Intelligence Analysis
- Prepare operational and corporate MIA reports.
- Analyze trends and advise the business on appropriate actions.
- Convert business unit requirements into technical and functional specifications.
- Interpret current GPAA BI outputs and provide recommendations.
- Ensure client‑friendly presentation of all MIA reports.
- Analyse data stored in the data warehouse.
- Support the use of BI tools for predefined reporting.
- Collaborate with the BI and Data Analysis team to design, develop, and enhance Oracle BI reports.
- Provide training and technical support on reporting and analytics.
- Help build a world‑class information management and analytics capability within GPAA.
Stakeholder Management Support
- Work with GPAA business units and stakeholders in meetings, workshops, and sessions on statistical analysis.
- Present findings and recommend solutions to identified problems.
- Deliver customer‑focused statistical and analytical results.
- Transfer knowledge to internal users on new BI solutions.
- Maintain and finalize verified MIA data sets as requests are received.
Strategic Management Input
- Assist in preparing operational plans, quarterly and annual reports for the MIA unit.
- Identify and resolve data‑related bottlenecks in business processes.
Staff Management
- Coordinate, coach, mentor, and provide corrective action for unit staff.
- Set performance standards and evaluate team members.
- Oversee HR matters such as leave, recruitment, and grievances.
