The Admin Supervisorplays a crucial role in managing the administrative functions of a meat processing facility. This position acts as a vital link between the production floor and the office, ensuring smooth operations through accurate handling of production data, compliance records, staff scheduling, and B2B customer requirements. The goal is to maintain efficient, high-volume meat processing and distribution.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Inventory Administration
Monitor and record daily production yields, ensuring accuracy between raw intake and finished output. Manage inventory levels of raw materials, spices, and finished goods using FIFO principles. Oversee procurement and inventory of non-meat items like PPE, chemicals, and packaging. Ensure all product labels, batch codes, and pricing tags meet legal and customer specifications.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
Maintain meticulous files for HACCP, health certificates, and cold-chain temperature logs. Ensure all administrative documentation is organized and audit-ready for internal or third-party safety audits. Enforce company protocols on data security, hygiene standards, and workplace safety (OHS).
Stakeholder & Sales Support
Act as the primary administrative contact for B2B clients, managing order processing and resolving delivery issues. Coordinate with suppliers for timely delivery of processing inputs and office supplies. Generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports on sales, inventory variances, and operational expenses for leadership.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
Requires a Grade 12 Matric certificate or equivalent; a diploma in Administration or Logistics is advantageous. Needs at least 2 years of experience in a similar role, with a preference for red meat industry or production experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential. Experience with the Meat Matix program or similar is required. Knowledge of health and safety regulations, food safety, and hygiene standards specific to meat processing is mandatory.
