Description
- Maintain records of quarterly asset counts and document newly acquired assets.
- Continuously manage the asset verification process, maintaining registers for asset movement and ensuring all movement forms are fully completed.
- Manage departmental assets effectively, efficiently, and economically.
- Conduct ongoing asset verification, identifying obsolete, redundant, and damaged items to ensure proper write-offs and disposal.
- Perform monthly asset spot checks, ensuring the asset register is updated and accurate.
- Update the fixed asset register system with relevant information.
- Update and reconcile the inventory control sheet by agreeing it to the fixed asset register.
- Ensure all documents are properly filed and stored securely.
- Assist in resolving audit queries on assets, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
- Assist in preparing quarterly and yearly asset disclosure notes.
- Ensure compliance with relevant policies such as SCM and Asset Management Plan.
- Determine the safety of all assets monthly.
- Conduct regular inspections to check building safety and Occupational Health and Safety (OHS).
- Follow up on all OHS decisions.
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety Regulations.
Requirements
- National Senior Certificate Grade 12 with Accounting as a major subject.
- One year of relevant job experience.
- Knowledge of administrative processes or asset management.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license.
